The colours of the tokens that were in circulation have been established. The Kharkiv token manufacturing technology is described, and the types of mould components used to cast the tokens are identified. A classification of tokens has been developed, based on the fact that the casting mould consisted of three parts. Types of standard and non-standard tokens are described. A formula for designating the token type is proposed. A comparative analysis of the characteristics of tokens cast at different production sites has been carried out. The production sites where the tokens were cast are described. The token manufacturing companies and their products are presented. A statistical analysis of the token stock at the beginning and at the end of the token era of the Kharkiv Metro has been performed. The composition of a collection of standard tokens, a collection of non-standard tokens and a collection of tokens with rotations is proposed. The spectrum of the "rainbow" — tokens whose colour does not match the mould in which they were cast — is analysed. Reports from the Kharkiv media on token-related topics have been compiled. Information on fares has been gathered. High-quality photographs of selected tokens are included. A Token Catalogue is proposed. Recommendations for collectors are given. Structure The work consists of two parts: PART I. ENCYCLOPEDIA is a mini-encyclopedia of the Kharkiv Metro tokens. PART II. CATALOGUE contains a chronologically ordered list of all Kharkiv Metro tokens with their descriptions and photographs.
