People hold the nymphs in high regard, offering sacrificial bread in the fields for prosperity and protection from harm. However, they also fear the nymphs, as they can tickle one to death. These enigmatic creatures have always evoked a blend of fear and reverence. The Forest Nymph intertwines in the works of prominent Ukrainian writers such as Kotlyarevsky, Vovchok, Grebinka, Franko, and in the famous «Forest Song» by Lesya Ukrainka, which paved the way for Ukrainian fantasy.
